KYB Introduces Twin-Zero Project

05 May 2024

KYB Advanced Manufacturing (KAMS), based in Los Arcos, Spain, is one of three European KYB shock absorber factories that has launched a project called “Twin-Zero.”

KAMS produces Original Equipment (OE) shock absorbers for Stellantis: DS, Peugeot, Citroën; Audi, VW, Skoda, Renault, as well as for the European aftermarket. The goal of the “Twin-Zero” project is to create a digital equivalent of the production line to eliminate any errors and ensure predictive maintenance, traceability of finished goods and raw materials. All this is to achieve a more sustainable production process for the final product.

To implement this innovative project, KAMS is collaborating with several partners. The factory has received a grant from the Government of Navarre as part of the strategic research and development projects program for the years 2022-2024. The project began in July 2022, and its completion is planned for the end of December 2024. In the initial phases of the project, teams are working on analyzing the entire operation of the production line and testing new data capture systems, such as image recording and advanced sensors.
