For the first time the world’s leading trade fair for the automotive aftermarket, Automechanika Frankfurt will take the form of a hybrid event; ‘Automechanika Digital Plus’ on September 14-16 at Frankfurt am Main and online. ZF Aftermarket will welcome customers on the web-platform ‘ZF Aftermarket Live’. During the three-day online event customers and workshop partners gain insight of the latest company updates and industry highlight. Thanks to the interactive web platform visitors can engage in networking opportunities and training offerings.

“With our format ‘ZF Aftermarket Live’ we will be able to not only share our vision for a green, sustainable and data-fueled aftermarket of tomorrow – but discuss about the next generation of mobility with our partners in an interactive way. Our visitors will have access to in-depth information about our latest products, services and technologies, designed to support the transformation towards electrified, autonomous and connected vehicles;” says Philippe Colpron, Head of ZF Aftermarket.

“During the three-day event, we want to take the opportunity to share expert know-how, exchange ideas with our aftermarket and fleet customers, and provide value-add services to our customer’s operations.”

Via ‘ZF Aftermarket Live’ the automotive supplier will present the latest highlights of its ‘Next Generation Aftermarket’ strategy featuring live round-table discussion, keynote speeches and interactive training sessions. The lead topics will be focusing on: Offerings for electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as an expanded product portfolio under its aftermarket brands: ZF, Lemförder, Sachs, TRW and Wabco and digital fleet solutions such as Transics.

The business will especially focus on the company’s significantly expanded offering for the commercial vehicle market following the acquisition of automotive supplier Wabco.

New Mobility Services

Other highlights include spare parts and diagnostic solutions, as well as autonomous vehicles for local public transport; the so-called ‘people movers’. These vehicles not only contain cutting-edge ZF components, but also offer a tangible glimpse of the services of the future. With their permanent digital networking, electric drive, and electronic monitoring of all assemblies, they serve as a technological blueprint for fully driverless vehicle services of the future.

The ZF Aftermarket Live program

Dr. Holger Hättich, Head of Customer & Strategy at ZF Aftermarket, comments on the concept of ZF Aftermarket Live: “Our digital presence represents much more than a virtual trade show booth: With ZF Aftermarket Live, we are launching a new, channel for digital knowledge transfer and networking within the global automotive aftermarket.”

On the first day of the trade show (Tuesday, September 14, 2021), the focus will be on the latest products and services for the passenger car market. Live discussions and keynote presentations will address topics such as e-mobility, autonomous driving and how the spare parts market could be made more sustainable. Examples include ZF Aftermarket products such as TRW brake pads which are produced following a carbon neutral process and remanufactured replacement parts. The focus on this day will also be on fully autonomous people movers, ZF’s contribution to environmentally friendly and efficient inner-city passenger transport.

On Wednesday, September 15, ZF Aftermarket Live will focus on the commercial vehicle market. Speakers will provide information on the megatrends concerning the truck, bus and trailer segments. Fleet operators and managers will learn about ZF’s latest monitoring, networking and telematics solutions that enable better fleet control, remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance.

Under the motto “Best of Automechanika”, ZF Aftermarket Live will once again specifically address automotive workshops on the third day of the trade fair (Thursday, September 16). They can attend online training courses on the topics of high-voltage technology basics, retrofitting the Tailguard reversing assistance system for commercial vehicles, and electric power steering for passenger cars, for which participants will receive a certificate. In addition, the ZF [pro]Points bonus program offers competitions and games in which participants can win vouchers for ZF workshop concepts and other prizes such as a Sachs e-bike.
