06 Mar 2024

In BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (F45) vehicles from the production years 2014 – 2017, various malfunctions or improper operations of systems such as cruise control, paddle shifters, connected to the multifunction steering wheel, may occur. An error message “cruise control failed” may appear on the dashboard. Additionally, an error code 030410 (MFL LIN slave) may be stored in the controller.

This issue may be caused by a loosened connection between the steering wheel spring and the connector on the steering wheel wiring harness.

Repair method: To resolve this issue, the steering wheel spring and the steering wheel wiring harness should be replaced. It is recommended to contact the vehicle manufacturer or an authorized BMW service center.

Note: This problem may also affect other BMW models.
