New Oil Formula Presented for Ford’s Most Popular Engines
The latest oil in Castrol’s MAGNATEC range meets the requirements that Ford sets for oils intended for its most popular petrol engines. The newest oil will find application in a wide range of Ford models.
New MAGNATEC for Ford
Castrol has introduced a new formula of its renowned automotive engine lubricant, MAGNATEC, to meet the specific needs of Ford’s most popular petrol engines. Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 E is designed for Ford’s 1.0 l EcoBoost, 1.5 l EcoBoost I3, and 2.5 l Duratec-Hybrid powertrains, which can be found in models such as the Fiesta, Focus, and Kuga1.
The latest Castrol MAGNATEC oil complies with WSS-M2C954-A – Ford’s new specification for petrol engines, and is also backwards compatible with applications that require SAE 5W-20 viscosity oils meeting Ford’s WSS-M2C948-B specification.
When the engine is not running, oil can drain away, leaving key parts exposed. This is important because 75% of wear usually occurs during the warm-up phase. However, Castrol MAGNATEC’s intelligent molecules do not drain away. They adhere to key engine parts, increasing their resistance to wear. Castrol MAGNATEC provides a constant level of protection at high and low temperatures and under various driving conditions and styles. The new product also offers additional performance benefits, including increased fuel economy, timing chain wear protection, and reduced risk of low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI).
