SKF launches a new range of brake pads
SKF launches a new range of brake pads – an advanced solution with ceramic that ensures lower dust generation, excellent service life and optimal noise performance.
After more than a century of experience in rotation for OE and the Aftermarket, and complementing the already well-known brake discs with bearings, SKF introduces a completely new range of SKF brake pads, always matching the European regulation ECE-R90.
These new brake pads are specially designed for all road conditions. Compared to the standard brake pads on the market, our brakes have undergone significant improvements in terms of materials. Most of them contain ceramic components that ensure less dust production, excellent durability, as well as minimal noise. This reduction in noise has been proven in comparative tests carried out by SKF with other products from different manufacturers, based on the SAE J2521 noise test procedure. In all results, SKF pads outperformed the competition.
The SKF brake pad features a specific thermal treatment so called scorching, that optimizes the coefficient of friction and therefore promotes better braking performance in all road conditions. For an instant braking performance SKF brake pads have a coated surface that improves the bedding behavior between the brake pads and discs on the first stop, allowing the driver to feel absolute control of the vehicle. At the same time, it can reduce the braking distances by up to 20% and, offer the driver absolute safety at the first stop.
How can it be installed?
To facilitate the installation process, the majority of the SKF brake pad kits come with all the accessories in the box; including electric wear indicators, bolts and caliper clips that meet OE specifications. The new accessory kits replace the old kit and maintain optimum noise reduction during use. All these components allow a perfect installation and reduces unexpected squealing and at the same time can be easily interchangeable.
