Future technology will meet service innovation at the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference 2023

16 Mar 2023

Brussels — Europe’s leading automotive Aftermarket Conference returns in 2023 with a special focus on the impact of technological evolution in the world of after-sales services.

Reflecting the spirit of the current digital and green transition, the main theme of the 16th edition is ‘Driving Service Innovation’. The conference, organised by CLEPA – the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, will be held for the second time at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel, on 29 & 30 March.

Market scenarios are changing quickly: Vehicle technology is following the path of increased deployment of electrification, automation, connectivity, and cyber protection. The aftermarket will have to handle the related advanced technologies, and preparations must be made in time.

The Conference will kick-off on the evening of 29 March, with a stimulating keynote titled ‘Mobility vision 2040 – A view beyond the figures’, from Hasmeet Kaur, Roland Berger, leaving you with food for thought for subsequent discussions with peers during the event. Following the dinner reception, the evening provides an excellent opportunity for face-to-face networking.

On 30 March, a line-up of enriching sessions will take the stage from 9:00 to 15:00 CET. Mark Nicklas, Head of Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, will provide an overview of planned EU legislative measures relevant to the

automotive aftermarket. His presentation will delve into in-vehicle data, cyber protection, and the future of on-board diagnostics.

The consultancy Boston Consulting Group will introduce an exclusive preview of the results from the new CLEPA/BCG study on the implications of fleets for the automotive aftermarket. The analysis includes an indication of overall trends, general market size and structure of fleets, as well as the future role of fleet operators in the service and repair market.

Damian Dyrbusch, Robert Bosch GmbH, will explain the future design of E/E architectures and how Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in vehicles will enable advanced functions and services.

In the following panel discussion, representatives from the aftermarket value chain will shed light on the impact of vehicle services from different angles. The audience will receive further insights and guidance not only on upcoming challenges but also solutions.

The 2023 edition of the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference will explore the intersection of where future technology meets service innovation.
