Sports Suspension for BMW 3 Series G20

In some car models, factory sports suspension can be selected for an additional fee. However, special mounting kits can also be ordered on the independent market. BILSTEIN has presented its proposal for the BMW 3 Series G20 model.

The well-known German car magazine “Auto Bild Sportscars” in editorial tests of BILSTEIN EVO S showed that the basic BILSTEIN tuning kit for the BMW 3 Series proves to be better than the optional factory M suspension. BILSTEIN also offers even more advanced kits for this model.

“It used to vary, but nowadays alternative factory sports suspensions are designed in a very similar way. They usually lower the ground clearance by about 15 mm and have a slightly more sporty characteristic. With accessory suspensions, we have much more room for maneuver, both in terms of tuning and ground clearance. We can further improve track handling quality and change the car’s appearance by lowering it,” said Fabian Okon, Marketing Product Manager at BILSTEIN.

The manufacturer’s range includes three options – BILSTEIN EVO S, EVO SE, and EVO T1.

According to Auto Bild magazine, the manufacturer’s base proposal “provides little or no body roll, excellent cornering, and very good control of the rear axle.” In terms of price, BILSTEIN EVO S received four out of five possible stars from the magazine. In terms of lateral dynamics, the sports suspension scored full points.

In addition to the basic coilover suspension, BILSTEIN also offers additional, high-performance coilover suspensions for sports applications:

• BILSTEIN EVO SE (49-303391) – This coilover suspension is chosen for vehicles with adaptive suspension where the factory electronic adjustment function is to remain. This model is a plug-and-play solution. Based on BILSTEIN EVO S, the BILSTEIN EVO SE kit was designed as an adjustable coilover suspension that is connected 1:1 with the BMW 3 Series electronic control system.
• BILSTEIN EVO T1 (48-300162) – In this case, thanks to the coilover suspension, you can set your own, personalized shock absorber settings for a specific race track. The rebound and compression stages are adjusted using 10 perceptible clicks of the aluminum adjustment knob.
• BILSTEIN EVO R (89-312780) – The BILSTEIN EVO R coilover suspension, which can be ordered for many BMW G20 models, is a high-performance proposal and at the same time the flagship model in the range. It was developed specifically for professional racing drivers. The driver has 100 setting options at their disposal. They can be quickly and easily adjusted (in the mounted state) using two aluminum adjustment wheels and 10 perceptible clicks.
