Tesla Model Y: Water in the Cabin Near Passenger’s Feet. What’s the Cause?
In the popular Tesla crossover, water can enter the cabin near the passenger’s feet. Hella experts suggest what to do in such a situation and indicate the cause.
Water in the Car’s Blower
According to Hella experts, in the Tesla Model Y, water can enter the cabin near the passenger’s feet due to faulty sealing of the cabin filter blower. This can be particularly noticeable during rapid acceleration.
But that’s not all. Water can also find its way into the internal blower, causing loud and squeaky noises from the component.
The diagnosis can be confirmed by removing the cabin filters. They can be accessed from the front chamber, under the cowl cover. If the seal visible above the blower housing is loose or not pressed tightly, it will allow water to enter the car’s cabin through the housing and air channels during rain.
