Schaeffler Focuses on Developing the Cooling Systems Segment: Expands INA Brand Portfolio with Electric Auxiliary Water Pumps

Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket is expanding the INA brand product portfolio, offering auxiliary water pumps with OEM-standard quality. Users of over 50 million vehicles, including those with combustion engines, hybrids, and electric vehicles, can now benefit from this solution in the Aftermarket.

New Requirements for Cooling Systems

Cooling solutions are crucial for ensuring optimal operating temperatures, thus reducing the thermal stress on critical components. With the increasing electrification of the automotive market, temperature management systems are becoming even more important due to the growing demands placed on the cooling system. Auxiliary water pumps play a key role in cooling fuel supply and turbochargers. They are also essential for cooling the high-voltage battery and inverter in hybrid and electric vehicles.

Two-Stage Expansion

Schaeffler is introducing eleven INA auxiliary water pumps to the market, which have been developed for popular vehicle brands such as Toyota and Volkswagen. The offer will be continuously expanded in 2024 and subsequent years.

The highlight of the offer is a pump for Toyota, Volvo, and Lexus vehicles, which is used for cooling the hybrid inverter (reference number 539 0006 10). Other pumps, for the Volkswagen Group among others, cover important areas of additional cooling for the coolant circuit and cooling after the combustion engine is switched off (reference numbers 539 0010 10 and 539 0014 10).
