A new synthetic lubricant for trucks, VECTON, is now available on the market. It is the successor to VECTON FUEL SAVER.

New Lubricant for Trucks

Castrol has introduced a new product from its VECTON series of lubricants for trucks. It complies with the 2022 specifications of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 is a fully synthetic engine oil designed for trucks and for long-term lubrication and protection of modern diesel engines used in agriculture, industry, and stationary machinery, meeting all performance requirements and standards applicable in the EU.

The new product replaces Castrol’s VECTON FUEL SAVER 5W-30 E6/E9. It features even better parameters, meeting the requirements of the new ACEA E8 and E11 specifications. The new specifications consider the increasing complexity of equipment and the growing use of alternative fuels. Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 also reflects advances in lubricant performance, providing better protection against oxidation and deposits. The new product has been developed considering the latest research from the American Petroleum Institute (API), enhancing global synergy between API and ACEA.

As one of the world’s leading lubricant suppliers, Castrol closely monitors automotive industry trends and new solutions that meet the latest industry specifications and OEM approvals. During the development of the new product, Castrol conducted two new studies confirming the optimal effectiveness of the lubricant in reducing aeration and oxidation.

Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E6/E9 meets more global OEM specifications than its predecessor. These include MAN M 3775 / 3677, Volvo VDS-4.5, and Deutz DQC IV-18 LA.

Using the Castrol oil finder, workshop staff can find more information about the new product, including all compatible OEM specifications. Castrol has also changed the name of Castrol VECTON FUEL SAVER 5W-30 E7 to Castrol VECTON LONG DRAIN 5W-30 E7.
