Gates utilizes automechanika power to drive electrification message

24 Aug 2022

Gates (NYSE: GTES), a leading global provider of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions, will use its booth at this year’s Automechanika, Frankfurt, to highlight the importance of electrification to the survival of Independent Aftermarket Traders (IAMs).

Under the theme ‘From Provider to Partner’, Gates will urge an immediate transfer to ‘Electric Thinking’ so that IAMs can remain competitive. Keynote statements will include:

quality, reliability, and durability

The company will highlight its OE pedigree and demonstrate how its drive and cooling systems solutions, hybrid parts range and E-Start products are providing profit opportunities and helping IAMs to satisfy market demand.

The company continues its legacy of leading innovation by developing new solutions for the latest generation of cars. Gates’ stand, number D37 in Hall 4, will be divided into three kiosks. The combination is designed to showcase the company’s transitioning powertrain offer from the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), through to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (EV). The 60m2 booth will also feature a gaming area where visitors to the stand can take part in a virtual reality game with instant-win prizes.

“Automechanika is arguably the most influential aftermarket exhibition. After a long wait, we’ll be pleased to be able to be meeting people face-to-face again,” says Steven Zimmer, VP automotive aftermarket sales, EMEA.

“Electric Thinking is the driving force behind our offer and therefore, the focus of this year’s Automechanika booth. Gates believes that to manage a successful transition into EV maintenance, garages will need not only relevant products and technologies but access to a vast amount of technical information. We are continually developing new training materials, keeping our customers ahead of the game. We already have the infrastructure in place to deliver the support that our distributors will need to service the requirements of their garage customers,” he adds.

Hybrid and Electric Product Range

Driven by the stringent low emissions targets set by governments, vehicle manufacturers are racing to deliver an electrified car parc and Gates is at the forefront of the transfer of power from the ICE to Hybrid cars and EVs.

The Gates hybrid parts programme – E-Start Micro-V® Belts and E-Start Micro-V Belt Kits – is one of the fastest, yet quietest stop start-systems in service. Products from the fluid power range will include modular coolant hoses and electric water pumps, both fast growing ranges that are already adding value for both distributors and installers.
