Brembo acquires Perdriel

Brembo S.p.A. signed an agreement to acquire Perdriel S.A., an Argentinian manufacturer of brake discs. With plants located in the Buenos Aires area, Perdriel S.A. has a workforce of about 150 and expects to achieve about €20 million revenues for 2011.

Based on the agreement, in July Brembo will take over 75% of the share capital of the company, with option rights on the remaining 25% exercisable after three years of the signature of the agreement. Overall outlay will amount to €3.3 million, to be paid upon execution of the agreement. The seller is an Argentinian group with significant presence in domestic car component market.

Brembo, which has a share of almost 60% of the Brazilian market in the production of brake and drums, deems it strategic to maintain and reinforce its presence in South America, by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by current and prospective growth of Argentinian production and sale market.
