Peter Tyroller returned to office as CLEPA president

At its annual general assembly in Istanbul, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) returned Peter Tyroller to office for a further two-year term as president. Tyroller has been president of CLEPA since 2010.

As a member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH, Tyroller’s responsibilities include original equipment sales, corporate marketing, and the Automotive Aftermarket division. His first term of office as president of CLEPA expires at the end of this year.

Speaking in Istanbul, Peter Tyroller said: “It is a great privilege to act as CLEPA president. I would like to thank all members for the support I have received so far. Looking forward, I am honored to continue serving the interests of the supplier industry during my second mandate, and want to help develop CLEPA even further.”

CLEPA (Comité de liaison européen des fabricants d’équipements et de pièces automobiles) represents the interests of the European automotive supply industry. The association represents more than 3,000 companies, and covers the entire range of products and services in the automotive supply chain.

– “It remains its most important, central task to provide politicians with sound, objective facts as a basis for dialogue, and to lobby the EU authorities for legislation that is both ambitious and realistic,” – Tyroller said. He pointed out that work was ongoing on new, groundbreaking directives in many areas, such as the European Union’s CO2 strategy, emissions, and the mandatory use of safety systems. A further area of urgent concern, in Tyroller’s view, was the removal of restrictions to market access in international trade.

In addition to its direct contacts with EU institutions, CLEPA also plays an active role in UN bodies that are working on the worldwide harmonization of technical standards.
