Continental summer tyres awarded by ADAC and ÖAMTC

The automobile associations ADAC and ÖAMTC awarded the ContiPremiumContact 2 the highest marks “good” and “highly recommended” in their joint summer tyre test. ADAC named the tyre of the leading European tyre manufacturer as test winner for size 195/65 R 15, which is by far the most sold size category on the market.

Both clubs tested 17 tyre models in size 175/65 R 14 T, as well as 16 models in size 195/65 R 15 V. ADAC praised the following features of the ContiPremiumContact 2 in particular: “very good in all safety-relevant areas” and “extremely well balanced”.

In the 175 tyre class, the Uniroyal RainExpert came in second place with the mark “good” and the new Semperit Comfort-Life 2 from Continental was also assessed as “good” by ADAC and ÖAMTC.

From the tyres for larger passenger vehicles, both the ContiPremiumContact 2 and the Semperit Speed-Life model were assessed as “good”.

Alongside the established brands, the testers once again also took a look at particularly low-cost tyres. The cheapest product among the 175 tyres had a significantly longer braking distance. From the larger tyres, an Asian import tyre failed the high-speed test in accordance with DIN regulations and this cheap import tyre was even deceptively marked with the M+S winter tyre logo.
